Clone House has the privilege of offering guests guided hikes and walks into the hidden heart of the Wicklow Mountains.

The route of your walk may follow the bed of a crystal clear stream perhaps with a stop for lunch by a thundering waterfall or at one of the many small lakes nestling in the higher glens. You might possibly see a herd of deer in middle distance or catch a sight of the majestic peregrine as it soars and dives at great speed among the craggy cliffs.

Our guide is a seasoned hill walker and hiking group leader. He enjoys sharing his considerable knowledge of the origins, landscape, history, flora and fauna of the Wicklow uplands. Stories of upland life in bygone days will unfold as you journey on, or you might discover something of when and how the mountains were formed and the climatic influences which left us this wonderful wild upland landscape.

Then back to a relaxing bath and sumptuous dinner to reflect on a day to remember forever.

All of the hikes and walks are designed to match the experience and fitness levels of guests. Our guide likes to meet our guests on their arrival evening to discuss their experience, ambition and fitness levels with the aim of tailoring the hikes to the individual.

Packages can be for two or three nights and for longer stays including walking we can customise a package for you.

We would recommend that every guest should be equipped with comfortable walking boots and socks, removable layers of wind and waterproof breathable clothing, including over-trousers, hat and gloves. Also a rugsack to hold the above, personal items and if required, medication.

LAKE  FLY  FISHING  IN  THE  WICKLOW  MOUNTAINS.

Guided Lough Style Fly Fishing for Wild Trout. Per day, 09.00am—17.00pm, fly fishing from a 19ft. Lough Arrow boat inclusive of collection/return, substantial lunch, flies and tackle. Starts May1st and ends 30th September.

€370.00 per person for two participating anglers.

€465.00 for one angler.

€585 for one participating angler and non-fishing partner.

Partners can be accommodated on fishing trip and partake in tuition, the picnic and the general enjoyment of the activities of the day.
 

•  Wild Trout Rambles.

Walk and wade fly fishing on rivers emanating within the Wicklow National Park. Inclusive of collection/return, substantial lunch, flies and tackle.

Half Day (3hrs) €270.00 for two participating anglers.

Full Day (6hrs) €295.00 for two participating anglers.
